In this tutorial we learn how to install anope-tre
on CentOS 8.
What is anope-tre
Anope is a set of IRC services designed for flexibility and ease of use. This package provides an Anope module to support regular expressions using the TRE library.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install anope-tre
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install anope-tre.
Install anope-tre on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install anope-tre
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install anope-tre
Install anope-tre on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall anope-tre on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the anope-tre
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove anope-tre
anope-tre Package Contents on CentOS 8
/usr/lib/.build-id
/usr/lib/.build-id/ef/428758eafdb52a40df8eb3c8a74f59b8ca6a4a
/usr/lib64/anope/modules/m_regex_tre.so
