Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aodh-notifier on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is aodh-notifier
aodh-notifier is:
Ceilometer aims to deliver a Single Point Of Contact for billing systems,
providing all the counters they need to establish customer billing, across
all current and future OpenStack components. The delivery of counters must be
traceable and auditable, the counters must be easily extensible to support new
projects, and agents doing data collections should be independent of the
overall system.
(A ceilometer is an instrument that measures cloud coverage.)
This package contains the alarm notifier daemon.
There are three methods to install aodh-notifier on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aodh-notifier Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-notifier using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aodh-notifier
Install aodh-notifier Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-notifier using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aodh-notifier
Install aodh-notifier Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-notifier using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aodh-notifier
How To Uninstall aodh-notifier on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the aodh-notifier package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aodh-notifier
Uninstall aodh-notifier And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aodh-notifier and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aodh-notifier
Remove aodh-notifier Configurations and Data
To remove aodh-notifier configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aodh-notifier
Remove aodh-notifier configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aodh-notifier configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aodh-notifier
