What is apriltag
apriltag is:
AprilTag is a visual fiducial system, useful for a wide variety of tasks
including augmented reality, robotics, and camera calibration. Targets can be
created from an ordinary printer, and the AprilTag detection software computes
the precise 3D position, orientation, and identity of the tags relative to the
camera. The AprilTag library is implemented in C with no external dependencies.
It is designed to be easily included in other applications, as well as be
portable to embedded devices. Real-time performance can be achieved even on
cell-phone grade processors.
This package provides the commandline tools
There are three methods to install apriltag on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apriltag Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install apriltag using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apriltag
Install apriltag Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apriltag using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apriltag
Install apriltag Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install apriltag using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apriltag
How To Uninstall apriltag on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the apriltag package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apriltag
Uninstall apriltag And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apriltag and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apriltag
Remove apriltag Configurations and Data
To remove apriltag configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apriltag
Remove apriltag configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apriltag configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apriltag
