Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aprx on Kali Linux.
What is aprx
aprx is:
Aprx is an APRS specific Digipeater and iGate.
It supports multiple KISS-TNCs on serial ports and listening
to any kernel AX.25 network interfaces.
Additional features include a built-in “erlang-monitor” to analyze
activity level of radio channels.
This software requires a valid (and unique) ham radio callsign to
operate fully and is therefore useful mainly for licensed radio
amateurs.
There are three methods to install aprx on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aprx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aprx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aprxInstall aprx Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aprx using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aprxInstall aprx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aprx using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aprx
How To Uninstall aprx on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the aprx package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aprx
Uninstall aprx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aprx and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aprx
Remove aprx Configurations and Data
To remove aprx configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aprx
Remove aprx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aprx configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aprx
