What is apturl
apturl is:
AptUrl is a simple graphical application that takes an URL (which follows the
apt-protocol) as a command line option, parses it and carries out the
operations that the URL describes (that is, it asks the user if he wants the
indicated packages to be installed and if the answer is positive does so for
him).
This package contains the GTK+ frontend.
There are three methods to install apturl
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apturl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install apturl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apturl

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apturl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apturl
Install apturl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install apturl
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apturl
How To Uninstall apturl on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the apturl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apturl
Uninstall apturl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apturl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apturl
Remove apturl Configurations and Data
To remove apturl
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apturl
Remove apturl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apturl
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apturl
