Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install arden
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is arden
arden is:
ARDEN (Artificial Reference Driven Estimation of false positives in NGS
data) is a novel benchmark that estimates error rates based on real
experimental reads and an additionally generated artificial reference
genome. It allows the computation of error rates specifically for a
dataset and the construction of a ROC-curve. Thereby, it can be used to
optimize parameters for read mappers, to select read mappers for a
specific problem or also to filter alignments based on quality
estimation.
There are three methods to install arden
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install arden Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install arden
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install arden
Install arden Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install arden
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install arden
Install arden Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install arden
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install arden
How To Uninstall arden on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the arden
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove arden
Uninstall arden And Its Dependencies
To uninstall arden
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove arden
Remove arden Configurations and Data
To remove arden
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge arden
Remove arden configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove arden
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge arden
