on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is astro-datareduction
astro-datareduction is:
The term data reduction in astronomy means the data processing from the raw
exposures up to scientific usable data. This includes the basic CCD
processing, the astrometric and photometric calibrations, the reprocessing,
error estimation and other steps.
This metapackage will install astronomy data reduction pipelines that can be
used universally, but also those for specific telescopes.
There are three methods to install astro-datareduction
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install astro-datareduction Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-datareduction
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install astro-datareduction
Install astro-datareduction Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-datareduction
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install astro-datareduction
Install astro-datareduction Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-datareduction
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install astro-datareduction
How To Uninstall astro-datareduction on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the astro-datareduction
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove astro-datareduction
Uninstall astro-datareduction And Its Dependencies
To uninstall astro-datareduction
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove astro-datareduction
Remove astro-datareduction Configurations and Data
To remove astro-datareduction
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge astro-datareduction
Remove astro-datareduction configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove astro-datareduction
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge astro-datareduction
