What is asunder
asunder is:
Asunder is a graphical Audio CD ripper and encoder. It can be used to
save tracks from Audio CDs. Main features:
- Supports WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, and Wavpack audio files
- Uses CDDB to name and tag each track
- Can encode to multiple formats in one session
- Creates M3U playlists
- Allows for each track to be by a different artist
- Does not require a specific desktop environment (just GTK+)
There are three methods to install asunder
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install asunder Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install asunder
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install asunder

After updating apt database, We can install asunder
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install asunder
Install asunder Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install asunder
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install asunder
How To Uninstall asunder on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the asunder
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove asunder
Uninstall asunder And Its Dependencies
To uninstall asunder
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove asunder
Remove asunder Configurations and Data
To remove asunder
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge asunder
