What is audacious-plugins
audacious-plugins is:
Audacious is a fork of beep-media-player which supports winamp skins
and many codecs.
In the default install, the following codecs are supported:
- MP3
- Ogg Vorbis
- AAC and AAC+
- FLAC
- Windows Media (WMA)
- Many module formats and much more!
Additionally, Audacious is extendable through plugins, and contains
other useful features like LIRC support.
This package contains the plugins for Audacious.

There are three methods to install audacious-plugins

Install audacious-plugins Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install audacious-plugins
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install audacious-plugins

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install audacious-plugins
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install audacious-plugins
Install audacious-plugins Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install audacious-plugins
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install audacious-plugins
How To Uninstall audacious-plugins on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the audacious-plugins
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove audacious-plugins
Uninstall audacious-plugins And Its Dependencies
To uninstall audacious-plugins
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove audacious-plugins
Remove audacious-plugins Configurations and Data
To remove audacious-plugins
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge audacious-plugins
Remove audacious-plugins configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove audacious-plugins
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge audacious-plugins
