In this tutorial we learn how to install aumix-common
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is aumix-common
aumix-common is:
aumix is a small, easy-to-use program to control the mixer of your sound
card. It runs in text mode using the ncurses library, or from the command
line (non-interactively). It can read default settings from a file, and it
can also automatically save and restore the mixer settings at shutdown and
boot.
This package provides files common to aumix and aumix-gtk.
There are three methods to install aumix-common
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aumix-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aumix-common
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aumix-common
Install aumix-common Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aumix-common
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aumix-common
Install aumix-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aumix-common
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aumix-common
How To Uninstall aumix-common on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the aumix-common
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aumix-common
Uninstall aumix-common And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aumix-common
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aumix-common
Remove aumix-common Configurations and Data
To remove aumix-common
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aumix-common
Remove aumix-common configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aumix-common
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aumix-common
