Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install avro-bin on Kali Linux.
What is avro-bin
avro-bin is:
Apache Avro is a data serialization system. Avro provides rich data
structures; a binary data format; and a container file format, to store
Avro-encoded data persistently.
This package provides the “avro-c” implementation of Apache Avro in C.
The C implementation supports:
- binary encoding/decoding of all primitive and complex data types
- storage to an Avro Object Container File
- schema resolution, promotion and projection
- validating and non-validating mode for writing Avro data
The C implementation of Avro lacks RPC support.
This package contains the avro-c command line utilities.
There are three methods to install avro-bin on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install avro-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install avro-bin using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install avro-binInstall avro-bin Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install avro-bin using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install avro-binInstall avro-bin Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install avro-bin using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install avro-bin
How To Uninstall avro-bin on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the avro-bin package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove avro-bin
Uninstall avro-bin And Its Dependencies
To uninstall avro-bin and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove avro-bin
Remove avro-bin Configurations and Data
To remove avro-bin configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge avro-bin
Remove avro-bin configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove avro-bin configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge avro-bin
