What is ayatana-webmail
ayatana-webmail is:
Ayatana Webmail is an application that integrates your webmail into
MATE, Xfce, LXDE and other environments.
It displays notifications about incoming mail, shows the number of unread
messages and displays subjects in the Messaging Menu.
The Launcher item also has a quicklist that provides quick access to your
mail folders. It also allows you to quickly compose a new message.
Ayatana Webmail starts automatically, all you have to do is to enter your
accounts settings in a configuration dialog.
There are three methods to install ayatana-webmail on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ayatana-webmail Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ayatana-webmail using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ayatana-webmailInstall ayatana-webmail Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ayatana-webmail using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ayatana-webmail using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ayatana-webmailHow To Uninstall ayatana-webmail on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ayatana-webmail package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ayatana-webmailUninstall ayatana-webmail And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ayatana-webmail and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ayatana-webmailRemove ayatana-webmail Configurations and Data
To remove ayatana-webmail configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ayatana-webmailRemove ayatana-webmail configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ayatana-webmail configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
