
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aylet on Kali Linux.
What is aylet
aylet is:
aylet plays music files in the `.ay’ format. These files are
essentially wrappers around bits of Z80 code which play music on the
Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128’s sound hardware – either the beeper, or
(eponymously) the AY-3-8912 sound chip. Files using the Amstrad CPC
ports are also supported.
One source of `.ay’ files playable with aylet is “Project AY”
on the World of Spectrum website:
There are three methods to install aylet on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aylet Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aylet using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aylet
Install aylet Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aylet using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aylet
Install aylet Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aylet using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aylet
How To Uninstall aylet on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the aylet package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aylet
Uninstall aylet And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aylet and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aylet
Remove aylet Configurations and Data
To remove aylet configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aylet
Remove aylet configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aylet configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aylet
