What is bamfdaemon
bamfdaemon is:
Bamf matches application windows to desktop files. It removes the
headache of applications matching into a simple DBus daemon and C
wrapper library. It currently features application matching at amazing
levels of accuracy (covering nearly every corner case).
This package contains the daemon used by the library and a GIO
module that facilitates the matching of applications started
through GDesktopAppInfo.
There are three methods to install bamfdaemon on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bamfdaemon Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bamfdaemon using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bamfdaemon
Install bamfdaemon Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install bamfdaemon using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bamfdaemonInstall bamfdaemon Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install bamfdaemon using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bamfdaemon
How To Uninstall bamfdaemon on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the bamfdaemon package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bamfdaemon
Uninstall bamfdaemon And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bamfdaemon and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bamfdaemon
Remove bamfdaemon Configurations and Data
To remove bamfdaemon configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bamfdaemon
Remove bamfdaemon configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bamfdaemon configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bamfdaemon
