on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is bashtop
bashtop is:
Resource monitor that shows usage and stats for processor,
memory, disks, network and processes. bashtop includes:
- Easy to use, with a game inspired menu system.
- Fast and responsive UI with UP, DOWN keys process selection.
- Function for showing detailed stats for selected process.
- Ability to filter processes.
- Easy switching between sorting options.
- Send SIGTERM, SIGKILL, SIGINT to selected process.
- UI menu for changing all config file options.
- Auto scaling graph for network usage.
- Shows current read and write speeds for disks.
- Multiple data collection methods which can be switched if running on Linux.
There are three methods to install bashtop
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bashtop Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install bashtop
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bashtop
Install bashtop Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install bashtop
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bashtop
Install bashtop Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install bashtop
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bashtop
How To Uninstall bashtop on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the bashtop
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bashtop
Uninstall bashtop And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bashtop
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bashtop
Remove bashtop Configurations and Data
To remove bashtop
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bashtop
Remove bashtop configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bashtop
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bashtop
