Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install basix-doc on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is basix-doc
basix-doc is:
Computes FE basis functions and derivatives for the following
elements:
- Lagrange (interval, triangle, tetrahedron, prism, pyramid,
quadrilateral, hexahedron) - Nédélec (triangle, tetrahedron)
- Nédélec Second Kind (triangle, tetrahedron)
- Raviart-Thomas (triangle, tetrahedron)
- Regge (triangle, tetrahedron)
- Crouzeix-Raviart (triangle, tetrahedron)
Computes quadrature rules on different cell types
Provides reference topology and geometry for reference cells of each
type.
This is the common documentation package.
There are three methods to install basix-doc on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install basix-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install basix-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install basix-doc
Install basix-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install basix-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install basix-doc
Install basix-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install basix-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install basix-doc
How To Uninstall basix-doc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the basix-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove basix-doc
Uninstall basix-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall basix-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove basix-doc
Remove basix-doc Configurations and Data
To remove basix-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge basix-doc
Remove basix-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove basix-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge basix-doc
