In this tutorial we learn how to install bazel-skylib
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is bazel-skylib
bazel-skylib is:
Library of Starlark functions for manipulating collections, file paths, and
various other data types in the domain of Bazel build rules.
Each of the .bzl files in the lib directory defines a “module†— a struct
that contains a set of related functions and/or other symbols that can be
loaded as a single unit, for convenience.
Skylib also provides build rules under the rules directory.
There are three methods to install bazel-skylib
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bazel-skylib Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install bazel-skylib
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bazel-skylib
Install bazel-skylib Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install bazel-skylib
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bazel-skylib
Install bazel-skylib Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install bazel-skylib
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bazel-skylib
How To Uninstall bazel-skylib on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the bazel-skylib
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bazel-skylib
Uninstall bazel-skylib And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bazel-skylib
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bazel-skylib
Remove bazel-skylib Configurations and Data
To remove bazel-skylib
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bazel-skylib
Remove bazel-skylib configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bazel-skylib
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bazel-skylib
