What is bdf2sfd
bdf2sfd is:
This is a BDF to SFD converter, allowing to vectorize bitmap fonts. It works
by converting each pixel of a glyph to a polygon, which produces large and
unoptimized SFD files that should be post-processed using FontForge.
It was originally created to generate OpenType versions of Spleen, and is
released in the hope it can be useful to convert other fonts as well. Please
be aware that it works best on fonts proportional to 8×16. Other sizes will
work but the aspect ratio will not be preserved. There is currently little
interest in addressing the issue.
There are three methods to install bdf2sfd
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bdf2sfd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install bdf2sfd
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bdf2sfd
Install bdf2sfd Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install bdf2sfd
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bdf2sfd
Install bdf2sfd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install bdf2sfd
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bdf2sfd
How To Uninstall bdf2sfd on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the bdf2sfd
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bdf2sfd
Uninstall bdf2sfd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bdf2sfd
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bdf2sfd
Remove bdf2sfd Configurations and Data
To remove bdf2sfd
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bdf2sfd
Remove bdf2sfd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bdf2sfd
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bdf2sfd
