Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install beanstalkd
on Kali Linux.
What is beanstalkd
beanstalkd is:
Beanstalkd is a simple, fast, workqueue service (a specific case of message
queueing), in which messages are organised in “tubes”. Beanstalk clients can
insert and consume messages into and from such tubes.
The beanstalk interface is generic, but was originally designed for reducing
the latency of page views in high-volume web applications by running
time-consuming tasks asynchronously.
Beanstalkd is meant to be ran in a trusted network, as it has no
authorisation/authentication mechanisms.
This package has the server files.
There are three methods to install beanstalkd
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install beanstalkd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install beanstalkd
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install beanstalkd
Install beanstalkd Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install beanstalkd
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install beanstalkd
Install beanstalkd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install beanstalkd
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install beanstalkd
How To Uninstall beanstalkd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the beanstalkd
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove beanstalkd
Uninstall beanstalkd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall beanstalkd
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove beanstalkd
Remove beanstalkd Configurations and Data
To remove beanstalkd
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge beanstalkd
Remove beanstalkd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove beanstalkd
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge beanstalkd
