on Kali Linux.
What is binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64 is:
MinGW-w64 provides a development and runtime environment for 32- and
64-bit (x86 and x64) Windows applications using the Windows API and
the GNU Compiler Collection (gcc).
This package contains the toolchain binutils targeting 64-bit Windows.
There are three methods to install binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
How To Uninstall binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
Uninstall binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
Remove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64 Configurations and Data
To remove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
Remove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge binutils-mingw-w64-x86-64
