Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install blender
on Kali Linux.
What is blender
blender is:
Blender is an integrated 3d suite for modelling, animation, rendering,
post-production, interactive creation and playback (games). Blender has its
own particular user interface, which is implemented entirely in OpenGL and
designed with speed in mind. Python bindings are available for scripting;
import/export features for popular file formats like 3D Studio and Wavefront
Obj are implemented as scripts by the community. Stills, animations, models
for games or other third party engines and interactive content in the form of
a standalone binary are common products of Blender use.
There are three methods to install blender
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install blender Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install blender
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install blender
Install blender Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install blender
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install blender
Install blender Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install blender
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install blender
How To Uninstall blender on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the blender
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove blender
Uninstall blender And Its Dependencies
To uninstall blender
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove blender
Remove blender Configurations and Data
To remove blender
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge blender
Remove blender configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove blender
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge blender
