What is boost169-jam

Boost.Jam (BJam) is the low-level build engine tool for Boost.Build. Historically, Boost.Jam is based on on FTJam and on Perforce Jam but has grown a number of significant features and is now developed independently.

We can use yum or dnf to install boost169-jam on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost169-jam.

Install boost169-jam on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install boost169-jam using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install boost169-jam

How To Uninstall boost169-jam on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the boost169-jam package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove boost169-jam
