Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install brlapi on CentOS 8.

What is brlapi

This package provides the run-time support for the Application Programming Interface to BRLTTY. Install this package if you have an application which directly accesses a refreshable braille display. brlapi 0.6.7 32.el8 x86_64 171 k brltty-5.6-32.el8.src.rpm appstream Application Programming Interface for BRLTTY http LGPLv2+ This package provides the run-time support for the Application Programming Interface to BRLTTY. Install this package if you have an application which directly accesses a refreshable braille display.

We can use yum or dnf to install brlapi on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install brlapi.

Install brlapi on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install brlapi using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install brlapi

Install brlapi on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall brlapi on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the brlapi package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove brlapi
