Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cairo-gobject
on CentOS 8.
What is cairo-gobject
Cairo is a 2D graphics library designed to provide high-quality display and print output. This package contains functionality to make cairo graphics library integrate well with the GObject object system used by GNOME. cairo-gobject 1.15.12 3.el8 x86_64 33 k cairo-1.15.12-3.el8.src.rpm appstream GObject bindings for cairo http LGPLv2 or MPLv1.1 Cairo is a 2D graphics library designed to provide high-quality display and print output. This package contains functionality to make cairo graphics library integrate well with the GObject object system used by GNOME.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install cairo-gobject
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cairo-gobject.
Install cairo-gobject on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install cairo-gobject
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install cairo-gobject
Install cairo-gobject on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install cairo-gobject
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install cairo-gobject
How To Uninstall cairo-gobject on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the cairo-gobject
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove cairo-gobject
