Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install catch-devel on CentOS 8.

What is catch-devel

Catch stands for C++ Automated Test Cases in Headers and is a multi-paradigm automated test framework for C++ and Objective-C (and, maybe, C). It is implemented entirely in a set of header files, but is packaged up as a single header for extra convenience.

We can use yum or dnf to install catch-devel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install catch-devel.

Install catch-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install catch-devel using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install catch-devel
