In this tutorial we learn how to install cc1541 on CentOS 8.

What is cc1541

This is cc1541 v3.2, a tool for creating Commodore 1541 Floppy disk images in D64, G64, D71 or D81 format with custom sector interleaving etc. Also supports extended tracks 35-40 using either SPEED DOS or DOLPHIN DOS BAM-formatting.

We can use yum or dnf to install cc1541 on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cc1541.

Install cc1541 on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install cc1541 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install cc1541

Install cc1541 on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall cc1541 on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the cc1541 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove cc1541
