In this tutorial we learn how to install collatinus on Kali Linux.
What is collatinus
collatinus is:
Collatinus can be used to lemmatise latin texts, i.e. extract words and
make a lexicon which indicates for each word its canonic form, and how
the form actually found in the text was derived from it, for instance by
declining it. Example : rosam gives : rosa-rosae – acc. sing.
Collatinus provides a nice graphic front-end to each operation.
Collatinus-nouus (stands for Collatinus, new generation) replaces every
previous version of Collatinus.

There are three methods to install collatinus on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install collatinus Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install collatinus using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install collatinus
Install collatinus Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install collatinus using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install collatinus
Install collatinus Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install collatinus using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install collatinus
How To Uninstall collatinus on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the collatinus package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove collatinus
Uninstall collatinus And Its Dependencies
To uninstall collatinus and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove collatinus
Remove collatinus Configurations and Data
To remove collatinus configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge collatinus
Remove collatinus configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove collatinus configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge collatinus
