What is corosync-vqsim
corosync-vqsim is:
The Corosync Cluster Engine is a Group Communication
System with additional features for implementing high availability within
applications. The project provides four C Application Programming Interface
features:
- A closed process group communication model with virtual synchrony
guarantees for creating replicated state machines. - A simple availability manager that restarts the application process
when it has failed. - A configuration and statistics in-memory database that provide the
ability to set, retrieve, and receive change notifications of
information. - A quorum system that notifies applications when quorum is achieved
or lost.
This package contains the Corosync votequorum simulator. It
can simulate multiple nodes, network splits and a basic quorum device.
There are three methods to install corosync-vqsim on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install corosync-vqsim Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install corosync-vqsim using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install corosync-vqsimInstall corosync-vqsim Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install corosync-vqsim using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install corosync-vqsimInstall corosync-vqsim Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install corosync-vqsim using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install corosync-vqsim
How To Uninstall corosync-vqsim on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the corosync-vqsim package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove corosync-vqsim
Uninstall corosync-vqsim And Its Dependencies
To uninstall corosync-vqsim and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove corosync-vqsim
Remove corosync-vqsim Configurations and Data
To remove corosync-vqsim configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge corosync-vqsim
Remove corosync-vqsim configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove corosync-vqsim configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge corosync-vqsim
