crossbuild-essential-i386 is:
If you do not plan to cross build Debian packages, you don’t need
this package. Starting with sbuild (>= 0.63.0) this package is
required for cross building Debian packages in a chroot.
This package contains an informational list of packages which are
considered essential for cross building Debian packages. This
package also depends on the packages on that list, to make it easy to
have the cross-build-essential packages installed.
If you have this package installed, you only need to install whatever
a package specifies as its build-time dependencies to cross build the
package. Conversely, if you are determining what your package needs
to build-depend on, you can always leave out the packages this
package depends on.
There are three methods to install crossbuild-essential-i386 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install crossbuild-essential-i386 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install crossbuild-essential-i386
How To Uninstall crossbuild-essential-i386 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the crossbuild-essential-i386 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove crossbuild-essential-i386

sudo apt-get -y purge crossbuild-essential-i386
