In this tutorial we learn how to install crossfire-client on Kali Linux.
What is crossfire-client
crossfire-client is:
Crossfire is a free, open-source, cooperative multi-player RPG and
adventure game. Since its initial release, Crossfire has grown to
encompass over 150 monsters, 3000 areas to explore, an elaborate
magic system, 13 races, 15 character classes, and many powerful
artifacts scattered far and wide. Set in a fantastical medieval
world, it blends the style of Gauntlet, NetHack, Moria, and Angband.
To play the game you’ll need to have access to a local or remote
server.
There are three methods to install crossfire-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install crossfire-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install crossfire-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install crossfire-client
Install crossfire-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install crossfire-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install crossfire-client
Install crossfire-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install crossfire-client using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install crossfire-client
How To Uninstall crossfire-client on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the crossfire-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove crossfire-client
Uninstall crossfire-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall crossfire-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove crossfire-client
Remove crossfire-client Configurations and Data
To remove crossfire-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge crossfire-client
Remove crossfire-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove crossfire-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge crossfire-client
