Devilspie2 is a window matching utility, allowing the user to perform
scripted actions on windows as they are created. For example, you can
script a terminal program to always be positioned at a specific screen
position, or automatically position a window on a specific workspace.

It is a continuation of Ross Burton’s project Devilspie, with the most
significant change that the symbolic expressions of that project are
replaced with a Lua interpreter.

There are three methods to install devilspie2 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install devilspie2 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install devilspie2 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install devilspie2

Install devilspie2 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
