Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ember-media
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is ember-media
ember-media is:
Ember is a 3D client framework for WorldForge. It’s not meant to be a
standalone game, instead its purpose is to provide a solid and extensible
base from which to build game-specific clients. One of the goals of Ember
is to allow for easy customization of the codebase. Currently it supports
the game world of Mason.
This package contains the media used at runtime by Ember.
There are three methods to install ember-media
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ember-media Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ember-media
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ember-media
Install ember-media Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ember-media
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ember-media
Install ember-media Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ember-media
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ember-media
How To Uninstall ember-media on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the ember-media
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ember-media
Uninstall ember-media And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ember-media
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ember-media
Remove ember-media Configurations and Data
To remove ember-media
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ember-media
Remove ember-media configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ember-media
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ember-media
