Introduction

What is flightgear-data-base
flightgear-data-base is:
FlightGear is a free and highly sophisticated flight simulator.
This package contains the default aircraft, graphics, sounds, models,
and the minimum scenery (San Francisco) you need to start Flight
Gear.
This package does not contain the flight simulator itself.
If you want to fly, install the flightgear package.
There are three methods to install flightgear-data-base on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install flightgear-data-base Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install flightgear-data-base using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install flightgear-data-base
Install flightgear-data-base Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install flightgear-data-base using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install flightgear-data-base
Install flightgear-data-base Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install flightgear-data-base using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install flightgear-data-base
How To Uninstall flightgear-data-base on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the flightgear-data-base package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove flightgear-data-base
Uninstall flightgear-data-base And Its Dependencies
To uninstall flightgear-data-base and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove flightgear-data-base
Remove flightgear-data-base Configurations and Data
To remove flightgear-data-base configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge flightgear-data-base
Remove flightgear-data-base configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove flightgear-data-base configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge flightgear-data-base
