fonts-ipaexfont-gothic is:
IPAex Fonts are JIS X 0213:2004 compliant OpenType fonts based on TrueType
outlines provided by Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan
(IPA) from 2010. These are suitable for both display and printing.
These new fonts are developed from IPA Fonts to provide the best balance
for the Japanese documentation mixed with Western characters by following
Japanese printing tradition. Japanese characters (Kanji, Kana and
punctuation marks) are full width mono-space pitch, and Western characters
are proportional pitch.
This package provides IPAex Gothic Font in the Gothic (san-serif) style.
There are three methods to install fonts-ipaexfont-gothic on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-ipaexfont-gothic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-ipaexfont-gothic using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-ipaexfont-gothic using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-ipaexfont-gothic
How To Uninstall fonts-ipaexfont-gothic on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the fonts-ipaexfont-gothic package we can use the following command:

To remove fonts-ipaexfont-gothic configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-ipaexfont-gothic
Remove fonts-ipaexfont-gothic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-ipaexfont-gothic configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-ipaexfont-gothic
