What is fwsnort

fwsnort is:

Fwsnort translates Snort rules into equivalent iptables rules and
generates a shell script that implements the resulting iptables
commands.

This allows network traffic that matches Snort signatures to be logged
and/or dropped by iptables directly without putting any interface into
promiscuous mode or queuing packets from kernel to user space.

There are three methods to install fwsnort on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install fwsnort Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install fwsnort using apt-get by running the following command:
