Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install itcl3-doc
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is itcl3-doc
itcl3-doc is:
[incr Tcl] (or itcl) is a popular object-oriented extension for the
embeddable Tcl scripting language. The name is a play on C++, and
itcl has a similar object model, including multiple inheritance and
public and private classes and variables. Unlike most OOP extensions
to Tcl, itcl is written in C for speed.
This package contains the man pages for the new commands that itcl
adds to Tcl.
There are three methods to install itcl3-doc
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install itcl3-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install itcl3-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install itcl3-doc
Install itcl3-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install itcl3-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install itcl3-doc
Install itcl3-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install itcl3-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install itcl3-doc
How To Uninstall itcl3-doc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the itcl3-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove itcl3-doc
Uninstall itcl3-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall itcl3-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove itcl3-doc
Remove itcl3-doc Configurations and Data
To remove itcl3-doc
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge itcl3-doc
Remove itcl3-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove itcl3-doc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge itcl3-doc
