What is jbig2dec
jbig2dec is:
jbig2dec is a decoder library and example utility implementing the JBIG2
bi-level image compression spec. Also known as ITU T.88 and ISO IEC
14492, and included by reference in Adobe’s PDF version 1.4 and later.
This package contains the command-line utility jbig2dec.
There are three methods to install jbig2dec
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

Install jbig2dec Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install jbig2dec
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install jbig2dec
How To Uninstall jbig2dec on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the jbig2dec
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove jbig2dec
Uninstall jbig2dec And Its Dependencies
To uninstall jbig2dec
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove jbig2dec
Remove jbig2dec Configurations and Data
To remove jbig2dec
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge jbig2dec
Remove jbig2dec configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove jbig2dec
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge jbig2dec
