In this tutorial we learn how to install kdegraphics
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is kdegraphics
kdegraphics is:
KDE is produced by an international technology team that creates free and open
source software for desktop and portable computing. Among KDE’s products are a
modern desktop system for Linux and UNIX platforms, comprehensive office
productivity and groupware suites and hundreds of software titles in many
categories including Internet and web applications, multimedia, entertainment,
educational, graphics and software development.
This metapackage includes graphics applications provided with the official
release of KDE.
There are three methods to install kdegraphics
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kdegraphics Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install kdegraphics
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kdegraphics
Install kdegraphics Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install kdegraphics
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kdegraphics
Install kdegraphics Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install kdegraphics
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kdegraphics
How To Uninstall kdegraphics on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the kdegraphics
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kdegraphics
Uninstall kdegraphics And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kdegraphics
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kdegraphics
Remove kdegraphics Configurations and Data
To remove kdegraphics
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kdegraphics
Remove kdegraphics configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove kdegraphics
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kdegraphics
