In this tutorial we learn how to install libfcgi-perl
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is libfcgi-perl
libfcgi-perl is:
FCGI is a simple Perl module for writing FastCGI applications. FastCGI is a
language-independent, scalable, open extension to CGI that provides faster
performance by keeping programs persistent in memory and allowing them to
handle multiple requests. This module provides the core interface needed to
write these applications.
For complex applications, you should consider a more full-featured solution
such as Plack or Catalyst (see libcatalyst-perl).
There are three methods to install libfcgi-perl
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfcgi-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfcgi-perl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfcgi-perl

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libfcgi-perl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfcgi-perl
Install libfcgi-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfcgi-perl
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfcgi-perl
How To Uninstall libfcgi-perl on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfcgi-perl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfcgi-perl
Uninstall libfcgi-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfcgi-perl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfcgi-perl
Remove libfcgi-perl Configurations and Data
To remove libfcgi-perl
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfcgi-perl
Remove libfcgi-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfcgi-perl
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfcgi-perl
