What is libfont-afm-perl
libfont-afm-perl is:
This module implements the Font::AFM class. Objects of this class are
initialised from an AFM-file and allow you to obtain information
about the font and the metrics of the various glyphs in the font.
All measurements in AFM files are given in terms of units equal to
1/1000 of the scale factor of the font being used. To compute actual
sizes in a document, these amounts should be multiplied by (scale
factor of font)/1000.
There are three methods to install libfont-afm-perl on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfont-afm-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfont-afm-perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfont-afm-perl
Install libfont-afm-perl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libfont-afm-perl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfont-afm-perl
Install libfont-afm-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfont-afm-perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfont-afm-perl
How To Uninstall libfont-afm-perl on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfont-afm-perl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfont-afm-perl
Uninstall libfont-afm-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfont-afm-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfont-afm-perl
Remove libfont-afm-perl Configurations and Data
To remove libfont-afm-perl configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfont-afm-perl
Remove libfont-afm-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfont-afm-perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfont-afm-perl
