Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libfparser4
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is libfparser4
libfparser4 is:
This C++ library offers a class which can be used to parse and evaluate a
mathematical function from a string (which might be eg. requested from the
user).
The syntax of the function string is similar to mathematical expressions
written in C/C++ (the exact syntax is specified in the documentation below).
The function can then be evaluated with different values of variables.
There are three methods to install libfparser4
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfparser4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfparser4
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfparser4
Install libfparser4 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libfparser4
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfparser4
Install libfparser4 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfparser4
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfparser4
How To Uninstall libfparser4 on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfparser4
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfparser4
Uninstall libfparser4 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfparser4
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfparser4
Remove libfparser4 Configurations and Data
To remove libfparser4
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfparser4
Remove libfparser4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfparser4
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfparser4
