What is libgclib3
libgclib3 is:
This is an eclectic gathering of (mostly) C++ code which upstream used
for some bioinformatics projects. The main idea is to provide
lean code and efficient data structures, trying to avoid too many code
dependencies of heavy libraries while minimizing production cycles (and
this also implies a decent compile/build time – looking at you,
bloated configure scripts and lengthy compile times of Boost code or
other heavy C++ template code..).
This code was gathered even before the C++ STL had been fully adopted as
a cross-platform “standardâ€. Since STL by itself is a bit heavier for
most of the C++ needs, it is preferred to use simpler&leaner C++ classes
or templates for basic strings, containers, basic algorithms etc.
There are three methods to install libgclib3 on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgclib3 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgclib3 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgclib3
Install libgclib3 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgclib3 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgclib3
Install libgclib3 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgclib3 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgclib3
How To Uninstall libgclib3 on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libgclib3 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgclib3
Uninstall libgclib3 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgclib3 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgclib3
Remove libgclib3 Configurations and Data
To remove libgclib3 configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgclib3
Remove libgclib3 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgclib3 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgclib3
