This C library supports TIFF 6.0 based interchange format for georeferenced
raster imagery. The GeoTIFF standard has been developed for reading, and
writing geographic meta-information tags on top of TIFF raster.
This package contains stuff to be used to develop programs based
on the GeoTIFF library.
There are three methods to install libgeotiff-dev
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install libgeotiff-dev

Install libgeotiff-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeotiff-dev

sudo aptitude -y install libgeotiff-dev
How To Uninstall libgeotiff-dev on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libgeotiff-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgeotiff-dev

To uninstall libgeotiff-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgeotiff-dev
Remove libgeotiff-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libgeotiff-dev
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgeotiff-dev
Remove libgeotiff-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgeotiff-dev
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgeotiff-dev
