What is libgeotranz3-dev
libgeotranz3-dev is:
GEOTRANZ (Geographic Translator) is an application program which allows
you to easily convert geographic coordinates among a wide variety of
coordinate systems, map projections, and datums. Currently, twenty-five
different coordinate systems, map projections, grids, and coding
schemes, and over two hundred different datums, are supported.
GEOTRANZ is the Debian name of GEOTRANS, a product of the National
Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and U.S. Army Engineering Research
and Development Center.
This package contains the static library and include files for linking
applications with the geotranz library.
There are three methods to install libgeotranz3-dev on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgeotranz3-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeotranz3-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgeotranz3-dev
Install libgeotranz3-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeotranz3-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgeotranz3-dev
Install libgeotranz3-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeotranz3-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgeotranz3-dev
How To Uninstall libgeotranz3-dev on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libgeotranz3-dev package we can use the following command:

To remove libgeotranz3-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgeotranz3-dev
Remove libgeotranz3-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgeotranz3-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgeotranz3-dev
