Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install power-calibrate
on Kali Linux.
What is power-calibrate
power-calibrate is:
Power-calibrate calibrates the power consumption of a mobile device that
has a battery power source or of an modern Intel device has RAPL support.
It will attempt to calculate the power usage of 1% of CPU utilisation
(and 1 instruction and 1 cpu cycle if perf is available).
There are three methods to install power-calibrate
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install power-calibrate Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install power-calibrate
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install power-calibrate
Install power-calibrate Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install power-calibrate
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install power-calibrate
Install power-calibrate Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install power-calibrate
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install power-calibrate
How To Uninstall power-calibrate on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the power-calibrate
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove power-calibrate
Uninstall power-calibrate And Its Dependencies
To uninstall power-calibrate
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove power-calibrate
Remove power-calibrate Configurations and Data
To remove power-calibrate
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge power-calibrate
Remove power-calibrate configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove power-calibrate
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge power-calibrate
