Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install printer-driver-pxljr on Kali Linux.
What is printer-driver-pxljr
printer-driver-pxljr is:
HP’s Color LaserJets 35xx and 36xx are supported by HP’s HPIJS driver
(part of HPLIP), but HPIJS supports only the lowest quality level of
the three which are available under Windows. This driver which is not
developed at HP but by an independent developer, supports all modes and
so provides the highest printout quality for these printers.
There are three methods to install printer-driver-pxljr on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install printer-driver-pxljr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install printer-driver-pxljr using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install printer-driver-pxljrInstall printer-driver-pxljr Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install printer-driver-pxljr using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install printer-driver-pxljrInstall printer-driver-pxljr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install printer-driver-pxljr using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install printer-driver-pxljr
How To Uninstall printer-driver-pxljr on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the printer-driver-pxljr package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove printer-driver-pxljr
Uninstall printer-driver-pxljr And Its Dependencies
To uninstall printer-driver-pxljr and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove printer-driver-pxljr
Remove printer-driver-pxljr Configurations and Data
To remove printer-driver-pxljr configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge printer-driver-pxljr
Remove printer-driver-pxljr configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove printer-driver-pxljr configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge printer-driver-pxljr
