Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sdop on Kali Linux.
What is sdop
sdop is:
SDoP (Simple DocBook Processor) reads a Simplified DocBook XML file, processes
it into typeset pages, and outputs the result as PostScript (which can easily
be converted to a PDF). It is “simple” because it supports only a subset of
DocBook, and also because it does not make use of a DTD or stylesheets or any
other heavyweight apparatus. It is a single program. SDoP is used to format
the Exim reference manual.
There are three methods to install sdop on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sdop Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sdop using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sdopInstall sdop Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sdop using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sdopInstall sdop Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sdop using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sdop
How To Uninstall sdop on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sdop package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sdop
Uninstall sdop And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sdop and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sdop
Remove sdop Configurations and Data
To remove sdop configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sdop
Remove sdop configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sdop configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sdop
