What is semodule-utils
semodule-utils is:
Security-enhanced Linux is a patch of the Linux? kernel and a number
of utilities with enhanced security functionality designed to add
mandatory access controls to Linux. The Security-enhanced Linux
kernel contains new architectural components originally developed to
improve the security of the Flask operating system. These
architectural components provide general support for the enforcement
of many kinds of mandatory access control policies, including those
based on the concepts of Type Enforcement?, Role-based Access Control,
and Multi-level Security.
This package contains the tools used to build policy modules in an SELinux
environment.
There are three methods to install semodule-utils on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install semodule-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install semodule-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install semodule-utilsInstall semodule-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install semodule-utils using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install semodule-utilsInstall semodule-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install semodule-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install semodule-utils
How To Uninstall semodule-utils on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the semodule-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove semodule-utils
Uninstall semodule-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall semodule-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove semodule-utils
Remove semodule-utils Configurations and Data
To remove semodule-utils configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge semodule-utils
Remove semodule-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove semodule-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge semodule-utils
