Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sigviewer on Kali Linux.
What is sigviewer
sigviewer is:
SigViewer is a viewing and scoring software for biomedical signal
data. It relies on biosig4c++ library which supports a number of
data formats (including EDF, BDF, GDF, BrainVision, BCI2000, CFWB,
HL7aECG, SCP_ECG (EN1064), MFER, ACQ, CNT(Neuroscan), DEMG, EGI,
EEG1100, FAMOS, SigmaPLpro, TMS32). The complete list of supported
file formats is available at
http://pub.ist.ac.at/~schloegl/biosig/TESTED .
Besides displaying biosignals, SigViewer supports creating
annotations to select artifacts or specific events.
There are three methods to install sigviewer on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sigviewer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sigviewer using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sigviewerInstall sigviewer Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sigviewer using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sigviewerInstall sigviewer Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sigviewer using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sigviewer
How To Uninstall sigviewer on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sigviewer package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sigviewer
Uninstall sigviewer And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sigviewer and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sigviewer
Remove sigviewer Configurations and Data
To remove sigviewer configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sigviewer
Remove sigviewer configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sigviewer configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sigviewer
