Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sleepenh on Kali Linux.
What is sleepenh
sleepenh is:
sleepenh is a sleep program for shell scripts that need to
perform a loop that repeats at a regular time interval, without
cumulative errors.
It supports microsecond resolution.
You can also specify the time you need between two calls
of sleepenh.
Here follows an usage example to clarify its purpose. This
example sends ‘A’ to ttyS0 every 1.2 seconds.

TIMESTAMP=$(sleepenh 0)

echo -n “A” > /dev/ttyS0;

There are three methods to install sleepenh on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sleepenh Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install sleepenh using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sleepenh
Install sleepenh Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sleepenh using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sleepenhInstall sleepenh Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sleepenh using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sleepenh
How To Uninstall sleepenh on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sleepenh package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sleepenh
Uninstall sleepenh And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sleepenh and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sleepenh
Remove sleepenh Configurations and Data
To remove sleepenh configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sleepenh
Remove sleepenh configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sleepenh configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sleepenh
